Take a trip to Chubbys Cheesesteaks near University Wisconsin-Milwaukee's campus to experience one of the best cheese steak joints Milwaukee has to offer. For under eight dollars, you can purchase a wide-range of cheese steaks, gyros, burgers, fried desserts, and a ton of other options. There is also a drive-thru where you can buy fresh donuts or other tasty items. If you go to Chubbys, do yourself a favor and try out one of their cheese steaks with their homemade cheese wiz sauce. Simply amazing. I chose the Philly, which included meat, fried onions, and peppers with your choice of cheese. They also deliver and are open until 2 a.m. daily! Their service was exceptional, and the restaurant was pretty clean for the most part. Their close location to Marquette’s campus, fresh food, and extensive menu makes Chubbys a hot spot for college students at an affordable price!

Bel Air Cantina is a retro-inspired, California-themed cantina that serves authentic Mexican food and drinks at extremely low prices. Tuesdays and Thursdays serve as $2 taco days, a valid reason to check out Bel Air Cantina to see what the hype is all about! The bus ride to this restaurant only took twenty minutes, a quick and convenient trip past Downtown Milwaukee. When we arrived at Bel Air Cantina, we were greeted warmly, and after being seated, we were given warm tortilla chips with three types of dip to indulge in as we prepared to order our entrees. The chips and dip were complimentary, which was a pleasant surprise! Likewise, the chips and dip were bottomless, as our waitress continued to refill our basket. The wait for our entrees took about ten minutes, and we were chowing down on our meals in a matter of no time. Another nice perk to Taco Tuesdays & Thursdays is the free rice and beans that are provided when you order three or more tacos. I chose to eat a tilapia breaded taco, carne asada taco and a chicken taco that included guacamole, onions, and cilantro. Each taco gave me a chance to try out their meat and fish options, but the tilapia breaded taco was by far my favorite! The waitress was extremely nice and continually asked if we needed anything. Moreover, the environment felt very open, thanks to the ultra high ceilings inside of the restaurant. Aside from Taco Tuesdays & Thursdays, their prices are consumer-friendly and are not overpriced whatsoever, making this a GREAT place for college students to try out. Overall, my experience at Bel Air Cantina was simply a breath of fresh air, and I look forward to visiting this restaurant again to try out the rest of their food!
